Your Work Programme

In this final step you will learn how to create a working programme to fit the timeline of your project.

This will include the Scope of Works, which outlines your requirements.

You will learn what documentation you need for quotation purposes from trade and professionals.

The first rule is to be realistic in terms of your competency to run a project, the cost and timeline of the works.

The complexity and need for consistency of decision-making and clear communication with trades and professionals is vastly underestimated by most renovators who aim to take on the project management.

Another rule of thumb I ten to work by is to estimate a project cost and timescale and double it - this will take into account unknown variable and the labour content attached to them. In this way you will then be presently surprised when the cost of the job comes in under budget.

I have included enough documentation to provide a broad outline of the project inclusive of the essential Scope of Works.

Following through with specifying, ordering and installing I have included an on-site delivery check list to check that all arrives as specified without damages. Together within this check list is the all important snagging list with architect and site manager to checklist all defects.
