Realising your requirements and surveying your room

In Step 2, I will guide you in the process of evaluating your existing space and then define your requirements within each of the rooms.

You will learn how to survey a room in order to obtain essential information for planning. This includes recording measurements and photographing.

The evaluation of your space enables you to realise whether the existing spaces fit the requirements of your lifestyle.

The initial process is to allocate your desired room spaces into public and private zones. In this way, not only do the rooms become more connected but by defining these areas enables you to allocate the all essential retreat rooms such as bedrooms and study areas.

Surveying your existing space takes into account the relevant size and condition of the room. This allows you to consider an alternative use for a room.

We tend to live with what is familiar even if it is somewhat uncomfortable so being objective about the relationship of your room spaces and how the spaces are currently used will realise whether the space is being used effectively.

When we evaluate our spaces it is important to take into consideration the ideal storage required so this can be planned into the change of plan layout.
