As the main surfaces make up the canvas of your room space it is wise to consider carefully what you require from the chosen finish - colour, texture, practicality, and appropriateness to the scheme. The right choice will set the right tone.
You will be creating a palette of finishes to work in harmony with your vision board and colour palette already in existence. Your overall scheme should be enhanced by the chosen finish. The mix of finishes is important and therefore it is necessary to consider transition points between rooms particularly with flooring. One can create a seamless transition where the flooring is matched throughout the rooms or a lively contrast can be achieved between rooms.
