In Step 8, we will look at the various types of lighting applications most suitable for the function.
You will learn how to create a lighting scheme that is functional, flexible and aesthetically pleasing.
You will also learn how to plan a lighting layout to highlight focal points, control the light and colour.
Design and function are key elements of devising a successful lighting scheme. Gone are the days of lighting the entire space at one level of brightness. Using the theatrics of lighting to highlight focal points and control the amount, quality, comfort and colour of light is the preferred method of creating the scheme.
Evaluating what function the light will play and how this is achieved is key to addressing all lighting requirements.
I will guide you through the types of lighting and the placement of the types into a room depending on it's function.
I have also included a lighting schedule that will show the dimensions and additional equipment required with the lighting. This will also act as a checklist to confirm all lighting fixtures are on site when the electrical contractor is appointed to carry out the installation of the lights.
