Learn how to construct narratives using observation and storytelling skills

The course discusses the meaning of storytelling and concept creation. It does so by running a deep analysis on the stories and narratives that make the world of film what it is today. It delves into the history of the concepts that enable us to construct the narratives we do. It encourages deep reflection of these concepts and dissects how these concepts have determined the manner in which we think, how we perceive, and it displays the current boundaries of our imagination. The course is focused on the development of original content which comes from the ability to recognize one’s own perceptive abilities and weaving perceived ideas with preexisting concepts. The course helps lay out how the world of movies, dramas, dance, and music use elements of images, actions, and words to deliver ideas.

In this course, students will be introduced to the importance of perception. This course will help students sharpen their ability of observation and then turn that information into narratives. Students will develop the sharp ability of dissection to understand and deconstruct narratives around them. The course will enable students to gain an understanding of deep concepts and their purpose, analyze the work of current professionals in depth, and study and dissect films with complex visual elements. Students will learn to reflect upon the presence of archetypal concepts in the world around them and study characters in depth to understand motivation and intention behind characterization.
