Beginner Adobe Illustrator and Drawing Class

In this class, we’re going to make all kinds of geometric shapes! I’m going to show you how to draw geometric shapes using a pencil, compass, and straight edge, and I’m going to show you how to make geometric shapes in Adobe Illustrator. I'll also show you how to divide a circle in half, how to divide a line into fractional parts like thirds, fifths, sevenths, and elevenths, and how to divide a square into fractional parts like ninths, sixteenths, and twenty-fifths!

I will show you how to export your art out of Adobe Illustrator, and how to import your art into other software programs like Blender and Cinema 4D. If you don’t know how to use these programs, don't worry... this is a beginner level software class! I will teach you everything you need to know to get started with Adobe Illustrator, and you will learn the basics of the other programs as well.

Also, this is a drawing class... I will show you the basics of technical drawing: what equipment you will need, and all the techniques necessary to make beautiful geometric drawings. Back in high school, I drew a lot in mechanical drawing classes in my high school's Industrial Arts program. Over the years I have frequently thought back to those high school drawing classes. I’ve often imagined how fun it would be to construct geometric shapes on paper, and then do the equivalent construction on the computer. Well, it's finally happening, and as you can imagine, I am very excited to welcome you to this class!
