Teaching Acro/Tumbling Crash Course

Hello! In this class I will teach you how to teach your dancers acro and tumbling, even if you have no experience! I will teach you how I personally structure and teach my classes for ages 5-8, 9-11, and 12+ or beginner, intermediate, and advanced. I cover warmups and proper conditioning necessary for acro and go in depth on the stretching routine I use. At the end I will show you the skills I teach by level, drills you can give for skills, and how to spot certain skills.

Although mats and equipment is important for tumbling and acro, you do not need any to teach this class! If you did want to use any equipment though, I would recommend things like 5-10 lbs dumbbells, a foldable panel mat, a soft landing mat, a wedge mat, an air track, and a barrel or rolling cheese mat. These things are not at all required though, in my classes we sometimes don't use any of them.

I recommend teaching this class in a ratio of 8 students to one instructor, if you have more than 8 students, I highly recommend having another helper with you to ensure no one gets injured. With the younger age group, I recommend having a helper with you regardless of the number of students.
