Let’s strengthen our mental abilities and grasp all the elements (period-wise and group-wise) once and for all

The one thing that every science student wants to learn is Periodic table. It is quite a job to learn 118 elements. All the students have tried their own ways to remember it.

This course provides some mental techniques which will help you to remember not only Periodic table, but a lot of other things also. The good thing about these techniques is their efficiency.

We are accustomed to learn thing by cramming or repetition of things (Rote memory). They are helpful for a short interval of time.

These techniques that we are going to use in the course effective for a long-run.

Think of chocolate and what comes in your mind. It’s a picture of chocolate.

Actually, our brain thinks, dreams and understands everything in pictures.

PICTURES are universal language and we are going to use them for our course.

The First technique is TIP (Turn into Picture)

Here, firstly we will convert all the elements of periodic table into pictures and visualize it.

The next question is how you can do that? There are two ways

1- Choose anything which is somehow related to an element. Like if I say Carbon, Diamond comes in my mind, as you all know that diamond is made up of carbon. So, we can choose the picture of diamond for carbon

2- Second, if you are not able to find anything related to an element, then imagine the picture of a thing or object that sounds close to the element

For example, knight has a similar sound with nitrogen, so we can choose knights for nitrogen

That’s all about the first technique

Now the second technique that we are going to use is chain linking

So here we will take the pictures of the elements of a specific group or a period and connect them together using the Vowels and make a story out of it.

Now what are the vowels

These are the words which keep things together. They are a, e, i, o and u.

A - Action

We can use action to connect two things, like you can connect a panda and a car by saying that panda was driving his old car in a car race.

E - emotion or exaggeration

Like you can say that the car had some emotional memories of panda’s father.

I - illogical

Like panda driving the car is itself illogical. We often remember things which are illogical.

O - outstanding

Here we can assume that Panda’s car was decorated with diamonds and rubies.

U - Unique

We can say that Panda had printed his father’s face on the car.

This way, we connected Panda and the car using all the vowels.

In this course, we will use vowels to make unusual stories for learning the periodic table.

Use imagination and try to make the story silly, shocking or different.

And as long as you remember the story, you will remember the elements.

Like our body our brain needs exercise and the above used techniques are actually brain exercises and it can improve our FOCUS, VISUALIZATION, IMAGINATION and ASSOCIATION.
