Learn the stances, blocks, strikes, techniques for the Nunti bo.

The Nunti bo (fishing spear) was mainly used for agricultural activities. This tool consisted of a central staff with two prongs facing in opposite directions attached to one end. The outer facing prong could be used to stab fish, while the inward-facing prong was used to pull fishing nets into the boat. As a weapon for self-defense purposes, this tool is used in a manner similar to that of a bo staff with prongs at the end. These prongs could be used to spear, strike, or hook an opponent.

The shield used in this course is constructed of bamboo and covered with cloth. Although, it would generally not withstand heavy impact, its practical use is included in this course for informational use only.

This course teaches the stances, blocks, strikes, techniques, and kata for the Nunti bo and is an ideal teaching aid for review, rank testing, competition, and self-defense.
