Talking About the Philosophy of Islamic Laws in General and That of Taqlid in Particular

The religion of Islam is composed of beliefs, ethics and laws. Muslims pay special attention to Islamic laws such as prayer, fasting, zakat, Hajj, and hijab. However, there have always been questions about the philosophy of these laws by both Muslims and non-Muslims. Muslim scholars have paid special attention to this issue, and throughout history, books have been written on the philosophy of Islamic law. These philosophies are based on verses of the Qur'an, hadiths, and rational arguments.

The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the concept, rationale and philosophy of Islamic laws in general and those of taqlid in particular as well as to satisfy their curiosity by providing reasons and arguments from the Quran, Sunnah (narrations of the Prophet and his Ahl al-Bayt) and sayings of prominent scholars.

The importance of learning the rationale and philosophy of Islamic laws

The benefits of learning the philosophy of the Islamic laws
