Go beyond basic sewing, make this shoulder bag with six pockets, support slow fashion and recycle, pattern included

In this project you make this shoulder bag out of the good pieces of a used clothing item like jeans and combine it with good quality new fabric. By the end of this course, you should be able to make a lined bag, sew an exposed zip pocket in a bag, know how to sew straps, D-ring straps, sew patch pockets with bias binding finishing and know how to do creative sewing with pieces of fabric and a zip combined. You also have to put a zipper with zip tabs in the top of the lining. This bag is fully washable and is ideal for traveling as it has six pockets, of which two zip pockets and two open pockets on the outside and two open pockets in the lining. I have decided on the name as I support recycle but also want to encourage slow fashion. The meaning of slow fashion is to produce clothing or other creative sewing items, which consume time to produce of quality material that will last a long time and is, in contrast with fast fashion that is low quality mass production that quickly end up in landfills. In this project I use a pair of jeans that is still in good condition but doesn’t fit any more, and also bought good quality 100%cotton fabric to combine with pieces of the best part of the used item to ensure that this bag will last a long time and this way I combine recycle with new fabric so that we still support our fabric stores and at the same time keep our good quality used clothing in the recycle process.
