I was so scared before my trip to Africa. I had such a hard time planning my trip and made so many mistakes. But traveling through 13 African countries became the biggest and best adventure of my life. I had incredible adventures like trekking gorillas, rafting the Nile, and feeding a hyena raw meat out of my mouth.
But my trip was also full of meeting real Masai warriors, visiting local markets, hanging out with other travelers, and meeting some of the kindest, most generous, heart-warming locals.
Traveling Africa changed my life. It made me a person who is brave enough to always follow my heart. You could now drop me in the middle of the Sahara desert and I know I could figure my way out. It gave me the craziest adventures that I'll tell my grandkids about someday. It saved me from living a boring, mediocre life. It showed me that Africa has a lot to teach the world. It showed me that I need Africa more than African needs me.
If you want to experience something totally different, have an incredible adventure, really dig deep into all the beautiful cultures, land, and people throughout the continent, then you will love traveling Africa. I promise you that it is safe enough to travel on your own, even as a female alone, and that you can do it.
I hope you join me in Africa! :)
